This free Cybercamp session is a tutorial that will show the student how to find the resources online to teach themselves how to play the guitar, bass guitar, and other instruments. Students may bring their own guitars.

Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 2:00 - 3:30 pm in the library program room.

For more information please contact John @780-361-4446.

Basically using the Internet to help teach yourself some basic skills and finding out how to read tabs and sheet music online. Also hopefully a little jam session to get kids (or adults) into music and excited to learn.

'Cause that zero is too cold for me, BRRR

Man its cold outside, cold, snowy and miserable ...but guess what its nice and warm here at the library, plus kinda cozy and full of books and goodies just waiting for you to discover.
I recently finished organizing my schedule for computer lessons and wouldn't ya know, there is a space for you to come on down and learn some basic skills. Maybe you wanna get an email address and send some Christmas cheer quicker than the post office (I'm not knocking the post office they are still pretty awesome ), or just learn how to turn that fancy box on and find out about all the great tools and experiences you can have on the computer.
If this stuff is sounding like your cup of tea please give us a call at the library (780 361 4446) to set up an appointment today.

And as always stay classy Wetaskiwin and have a happy holidays.

Ps. If this weather is keeping you down, use your computer at home or come by and Google Billy Preston (the fifth beetle). His music should be just the cure for the snowy day blues.

Helping out some of my favourite patrons Pat & Jerry.
Just helpin' Flo get better acquainted with her equipment.

Good cake..maybe a little too good :-(

Hey Wetaskiwin whats up? How was your weekend? Let me tell ya mine was pretty good. Starting with Fridays awesome festivities here at the library. First things first we had cake and no joke this cake was DELICIOUS (sorry for yelling) but maybe a little too delicious. I probably had one or two many pieces, also might'a ..maybe took a bit home and fell into a little sugar coma that I'm very glad happened (I needed to catch up on some sleep - real talk) but seeing as this is the second draft of this post I am now feeling the side effects of a little too much sugar and sleep. Now don't let this post fool ya there were Crafts, Story Time, Cake and Coffee, trust me good times were had by all. Jimmie Walker would've been proud.

I also want to thank everyone who came out and made the day a success.

Doubly also the library will be closed next Thursday the 23rd till Tuesday the 28th for Christmas. So come on down this week for setting up a Computer or Kobo E-Reader lesson.

Triply also ..keep it classy Wetaskiwin and Happy Holidays.

Hey Wetaskiwin whats up ..how's the week going ? Its a little bit warmer outside and that's alright with me (real talk). I bring the weather up just to remind you that the library is still here for y'all, till Christmas at least lol. One of the events I wanna bring up is the Christmas "Gift of Giving" Book Sale and Craft's this Friday Dec 10th. Part of the day is Mother Goose Time with Lynn Revill ages are 6 months to 3+ years with caregiver starting at 10:15 am - 11:00 am, and the 3-5yr olds can attend a Christmas Train Story time and craft's from 2-3pm. Adults are also welcome to sign up for our Christmas Glass Block Craft...(this is 20 dollars per person for materials).  Hope to see you all out there!

Today I also helped Pat and Jerry with their computer needs who are steadily becoming some of my favourite patrons to help out. There are definitely some great people here in Wetaskiwin and I'm pretty stoked to help out all I can. I'm also working on some reviews for all the different types of E-readers out there to help you make an informed and honest decision to see if one of these machines are a good fit for you or your loved ones.

Happy Holidays and stay classy Wetaskiwin !
